Ronald & Shelly Gates

Ronald Gates is the director and co-owner of the Gateway Group of Asheville. He is also the Senior Pastor and co-founder of Greater Works Church which was established in 2007. He is an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ and has a BA in Religious Studies. Along with being a Certified Recovery Coach, he is a Certified Pastoral Counselor and a Certified Gang Free Academy Facilitator. He has also completed training on Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and as a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist.

Shelly M. Gates Shelly Gates is the co-owner of the Gateway Group of Asheville and co-founder of Greater Works Church which was established in 2007. She is a graduate of Auburn University Montgomery with a BS in Business Administration. She is Certified Government Financial Manager (retired); and a Certified Executive Coach and a Certified Life and Wellness Coach.

Fatherhood Initiative

The Gateway Group of Asheville Fatherhood Program is designed to help fathers be involved, responsible, and committed to their children and families through either improving and/or developing skills and knowledge in parenting, self-awareness, self-care and communications. The goal is to build healthy family relationships, improving father-child engagement and increasing the economic capacity of participants.
The program is modeled after the National Fatherhood Initiative evidence-based program and curriculum which has the objective of equipping fathers to be intentionally and proactively engaged in their children’s lives.

 

Motherhood Initiative 

The program goal is to assist mothers to be more knowledgeable, aware, confident, and skillful at engaging in parenting, co-parenting and other relationships for the benefit of their children and the health of their family. The goal is to build healthy family relationships, improving mother-child engagement and increasing the economic capacity of participants.

Gang Free Academy

Gangfree.org was developed by the Gang Alternatives Program (GAP), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides services and programs to promote a gangfree lifestyle to young people and their families. The Gangfree Mission is to eliminate the base of gang membership by having a generation of young people say, “no” to gangs and “yes” to positive lifestyle choices.

 Recovery Coaching

Recovery coaching to reflect a collaborative and strengths-based approach in helping individuals achieve sustained recovery from addictions. The focus is on coaching individuals to create and sustain a life free of addiction.
